Real Estate Wiki Affirms Need for Quality Information

by Stefan Swanepoel

This month Real Estate Wiki broke through 25,000 entries. It was launched only six months ago with 7,000 entries and is now the largest wiki that focuses exclusively on the real estate industry.

With that rapid growth Real Estate Wiki has proven that the savvy consumer needs and wants access to quality information about the home buying and selling process. With so many websites trying to sell homes and real estate related services and products, Real Estate Wiki fills the crucial role of a free, third party neutral information resource.

Real Estate Wiki does not feature listing or promote homes for sale. It is online real estate encyclopedia and as such a great feature for agents to add to their website. Providing consumers access to 25,000 pages of real estate information make your website appear considerably more robust and comprehensive. With the new “Real Estate Wiki Widget” consumers to now even access the Real Estate Wiki directly from an agent’s website. (Have your webmaster download your free “Wiki Widget” for your website today.)

Of the almost 20,000 unique visitors per month to Real Estate Wiki the following five categories had the most visits during the six month period ending July 15th:

  1. Glossary of Terms
  2. Foreclosure, REO & Short Sale FAQ’s
  3. Financing FAQ’s
  4. Home Selling FAQ’s
  5. Acronyms and Abbreviations

Another feature of Real Estate Wiki that is very widely used by real estate professionals is the growing Real Estate Agent directory. Over 6,000 agents have already added their free profile. There is later up sell and no banner ads are anywhere on the Wiki and agents can even add contact details and links to their own website from the Wiki, thereby improving their own website ranking.

Real Estate Wiki (www.realestatewiki.com) is another perfect example of Web 2.0. It is a privately funded, non-profit venture that has as goal to try and create a better real estate industry. Are you participating?
